BEST HOME Inspection
WHO DO YOU HIRE?
Just like all professions, not all home inspectors are created equal.  Doctors, mechanics, teachers, contractors, car dealers, parents, you name it, some out preform others.  With the home inspection business only 29 years old, and only exercised in numbers for the past 11 years, this disparity in the profession is all the more highlighted.  It is important to find out as much as possible about hiring a home inspector by interviewing each candidate.

The following is provided for your information:

1.   Profession Affiliation:    BEST HOME Inspection is affiliated with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). ASHI is the first and original Home Inspector Organization (29 years) and has defined the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics which are the internationally accepted guidelines in the inspection industry. Membership in ASHI requires strict adherence to these standards, and annual participation in ongoing education in order to maintain membership. ASHI Inspectors are the most knowledgeable and professional in the business.

2.    Inspection Experience:   Home inspectors are often thought of being general contractors who just happen to inspect homes.  Nothing could be further from the truth, and this view clouds-up the misunderstanding of the home inspection process.  Yes, building knowledge is a much needed skill to a home inspector, but the construction of a house has little or no relation to the skills and tools used in being a "house detective" looking for subtle signs of failure.  A contractor uses craftsmen to build and install the features of a house while a home inspector is trained and knowledgeable about all systems and components. A home inspector is the "detective" who observes and finds defects. BEST HOME Inspectors inspect 40 to 60 properties each month, which means they have the knowledge and experience it takes to be the best in the business.
